NEXTAFF is a Staffing Franchise that has locally owned and operated staffing agencies across the United States.  Each office specializes in one of the following verticals: Commercial Staffing, Healthcare Staffing and Technology Staffing.

1998-2003: Inception and Learning Curve

Human Resource was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, by Cary Daniel and James Windmiller. The company started as a local staffing agency, primarily focusing on providing staffing services to businesses in the Kansas City and Denver metropolitan areas. During its early years, Human Resource established itself as a reliable source for temporary and permanent staffing solutions, achieving local and national recognition for growth.

2004-2009: Franchising

After a successful exit with Human Resource in 2003, the founders wanted to use their decade of experience in the staffing industry to help others. They determined that path would be to offer a high quality, high value staffing franchise.In 2004, the founders started NEXTAFF with its first franchise location in Denver, Colorado. Over the next five years, the company opened new franchise locations across the United States, which allowed it to provide staffing services on a national scale. This period of growth coincided with the increased demand for workforce solutions, driven by changing labor market dynamics and evolving business needs.

2010-2017: Diversification and Efficiency

With the change in the economy and the potential of government healthcare, NEXTAFF diversified its service offerings by acquiring a payroll and professional employer organization (PEO). The company operated the staffing/payroll/peo business through its franchise network until it sold that unit in 2015. That unit is now a part of Paychex. Post-sale, the company embraced technology to streamline its recruitment and staffing processes, making it more efficient and responsive to client needs. This included the development of a proprietary hiring process called X-FACTOR and their custom mobile N>GAGE app.

2018-Present: Continued Growth

In 2018, the company relaunched franchise expansion and also expanded its franchise verticals to include healthcare, technology, and commercial. This diversification has helped NEXTAFF adapt to the unique staffing needs of different sectors. The company’s ability to provide qualified healthcare professionals, such as nurses a n d medical professionals, b e c a m e especially critical during times of increased demand, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. NEXTAFF now operates with over 30 franchised offices in over 20 states.

Meet Shane...

Shane’s journey with Nextaff began in 2019, when he established a successful franchise in the Kansas City metro area. His experience as a Nextaff franchise owner provides prospective buyers with a completely transparent view of the Nextaff Franchise Opportunity. Prior to his time at Nextaff, Shane led large sales teams in the Financial Services and Medical Device industries, further developing his expertise in leadership and business management.

Do you play sports?

Basketball! I was fortunate enough to play college basketball all 4 years and in 2013 we won the NCAA DII National Championship.

What do you love most about your current role?

Getting to know prospective franchise buyers. I love hearing about their goals and dreams they want to achieve through entrepreneurship.

What is your favorite color?

Orange! Yes, it is one of Nextaff’s main colors but it was my favorite before coming to Nextaff. In the franchising world, I’m known as “Orange pants guy”.

When it comes to operating a staffing firm, Cary has worn every hat.  From recruiting, to sales, to management, to ownership, he has been involved in every aspect of running a successful staffing business.  He has successfully led three separate companies to the Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000 lists, which puts him in an elite class of staffing entrepreneurship.  Combining that experience with a strong passion for entrepreneurs makes Cary an ideal leader for driving the Nextaff vision.
